Humana Dental Coverage & Availability
Every dental benefit policy is different. These insurance plans represent a unique contract between you and your insurer. In exchange for the payment of a monthly plan premium, your insurer agrees to cover a percentage of the cost of specific dental treatments. While every plan is different, most policies offer between 80 and 100% coverage for preventive dental care, including dental checkups and teeth cleanings. For minor restorative treatments, like tooth-colored fillings, most plans offer 70 to 80% coverage. For dental crowns, tooth replacement solutions, and other more advanced treatment options, insurance policies usually offer 50 to 70% coverage. Other services, like orthodontics, may also be covered, but we’ll need to review your policy to provide estimates of this coverage.
One of the great things about dental policies is that you can use your insurance coverage at almost any dental office, but there are some benefits to relying on an in-network dentist. Because we’re in-network with Humana, we agree to their pricing on covered treatments. This means you can be completely confident that you will have the lowest possible out of pocket costs for every treatment. Out of network dentists may charge higher prices for covered services, but you will need to pay the difference in addition to your out of pocket percentage of treatment costs. Most dentists work with their patients and dental insurance providers to minimize out of pocket treatment costs even if they aren’t in-network with the insurer but visiting an in-network dental office removes that added worry from your shoulders.
